Hi
Is it your first time here? If so, you might use some help finding your way around our blog.
It would be rude for us not to introduce ourselves: we are Mike and Pete, two secondary school students from Kent, England. We are both passionate about science, which is why we’ve decided to create this blog. You can find out more about our transformation from science losers to science geeks in the “About Us” post.
We’ve named this blog “Science News” and it is precisely what we want to write about. So much is going on in our ever-changing world that it is hard to keep pace sometimes, don’t you think? New technological inventions, breakthrough discoveries, important findings, and reports – hardly a day goes by without an important and fascinating piece of science news.
Having toyed with this idea for quite some time, we’ve started this blog as a way to keep up to date with what’s going on in science, without you having to search the internet for hours at a time. We gladly do all the searching ourselves and bring you the best and the latest news.
Science is such a broad topic, what exactly do you write about here? Excellent question! it would be almost impossible to cover everything that is happening nowadays in Science. We still have to go to school and do our homework, after all! So, we have decided to focus on those areas of science that we feel the most passionate about.
Here’s what you’ll find us write about:
If you are interested in any of these topics yourself, you’ll find a lot of cool content on our blog.
That’s another great question! The obvious answer is: for anybody who loves Science. Be it a kid, an adult, a student, or a teacher. Those with professional backgrounds or those who simply like to be informed. We will try to keep it simple, educational, and, most of all, fun.
Yet, there is also another audience we‘d like to reach with this blog. If you read a little about our background, you’ll see that some time ago we struggled with Science big time! We used to find it absolutely boring. We thought learning it was beyond our capacities and simply a waste of time.
If you are this way yourself, you are welcome here, too! In our blog, we’ll do our best to enchant you with Science, see its purpose and usefulness. We’ll keep our posts simple and up to the point. We promise you won’t get bored!
Yes, we are a pair of teenagers, but it doesn’t mean we don’t take this project seriously. Over the last few years, we’ve learned that if you are not going to commit yourself to delivering quality information, better don’t bother at all.
All of our posts and included data are thoroughly researched and confirmed. In the times when fake news is flooding the net, what we write about here is entirely true. No posts about the flat-Earth theory, we promise 😉
It is, isn’t it? There is so much you can learn from one another! This is why we encourage you to keep in touch with us as much as you want. You can either leave a comment at the end of the post you’ve read or email us (the address is at the bottom of the page).
We would love this blog to become an interactive community where everyone shares information and knowledge. After all, enthusiasm and passion are what distinguishes an average teacher from a great one.
Last but not least, we are open to any suggestions and criticism. Since we still don’t have much blogging experience, we’ll gladly take advice from those of you who know how to go about it. Please, reach out to us anytime you feel like we could improve something.
Without further ado,
Mike and Pete
